So I’ve wondered for a while what was going to happen with the old location of the Nugget Market at Riverside Boulevard and Florin Road. (I love Nugget BTW and have since I first moved into the Pocket in 1994.) I decided to try and track the building owners down and ask them.
Of course, I first checked the records with the Sacramento County Assessor and then got a friend of mine to look up the ownership. The whole mall is owned by Inversiones Ramiro S A, a Spanish investment group. The address for the investment company tracks back to an apartment in the Los Angeles area. I got a phone number for the apartment using a reverse-lookup and called to find a family living there who had no idea their address was used by Inversiones Ramiro S A.
The tax bills are sent to the law offices of Philip K. Fraley in Citrus Heights. I visited the offices and spoke to Mr. Fraley today. He doesn’t know anything about the former Nugget Market complex or Inversiones Ramiro S A.
To be honest, this story has a weird number of dead ends but it’s only inflamed my curiousity and determination to find the owners of this space and get my questions answered. I’m still running down a couple of leads. (If you know anything about the ownership of the Nugget Market, let me know. editor@inourpocket.com)
I will update this rather confusing story (that shouldn’t be at all confusing) as soon as I get more information.

I'm with Susan- yay for TJ's!
I'm clinging to the rumor that it may someday be a Trader Joe's!!
Weird story. Who runs this puppy and what is going to happen to it… IS… the question. Maybe Kovar's next store will turn it into a huge fighting academy! Who knows! Thanks for the investigative research inourpocket.com!
