You remembered to roll your clocks back an hour this morning, but if you haven’t read Pocket Online you may have missed a comment by Sacramento Department of Utilities spokesperson Jessica Hess about new watering rules. Apparently, starting today you can only water your plants or lawn on Saturday or Sunday. Which day is based upon your address: If your address ends in an odd number your watering day is Saturday. If your address ends with an even number, you can water on Sunday.

The department also has some tips so you can save water:

• Water your yard before 10am or after 6pm
• Reduce your watering by 1-3 minutes
• Get an auto shut-off nozzle for your hose
• Replace toilets and other household appliances with higher efficiency models
