SES Warns of Another H1N1 Case on Campus
Marla Clayton with the School of Engineering and Sciences sent a letter to parents today that a 7th grader, who attended classes Monday, was today diagnosed with H1N1 virus. Clayton says the student will stay home for the rest of the week and that classrooms used by the student are now sanitized. (The affected rooms are Rai, Xiong, Wadsworth, Goetz, Sullivan and Cannady.) The letter tells parents, “Please be assured that SES is following district protocol in regards to this issue and we are taking every precaution to ensure the health of all students and staff.”
Administrators with the Sacramento City Unified School district suggest you take your child immediately to a doctor for a complete examination if the child is ill. Physicians with the American Medical Association (click here for their comprehensive H1N1 website) say your child can reduce their chances of getting ill if they: wash thoroughly and often, stay away from people who are ill, covor their mouth and nose when they sneeze and avoid touching their eyes or nose as these are places that are most vulnerable to the virus.
